One of the great storytellers on the circuit, John has spent the past nine years refining his own uniquely obsessive and uplifting view of reality via countless critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows. His standards have been unerringly high from the start, as 2009 saw John’s much anticipated debut stand-up show ‘Skinny Love’ which received four and five star reviews across the board, also picking up the award for ‘Best Debut Show’ at the 2009 Leicester Comedy Festival along the way.
John’s 2010 show ‘Nomadic Revery’ earned him an invitation to perform at the Brisbane and Adelaide comedy festivals as part of the ‘Best of the Edinburgh Festival’ showcase, a show that launched the careers of Ross Noble and Stephen K Amos down under. John’s 2011 and 2012 Edinburgh shows were called ‘Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven’ and ‘Incredible Scenes’ respectively.
Both received five star reviews from ThreeWeeks magazine which lead to a front page spread in their final issue of 2012. He has also become a firm favourite on ‘Setlist’ the improvised stand up show, having appeared both in Edinburgh and London’s Soho Theatre.
John has written radio comedy for ‘The News Quiz’ (BBC Radio 4), appeared on ‘Word of Mouth’ (BBC Radio 4), The Tom Craine Show (BBC Radio Bristol), The Matt Forde Show (Talksport), Drive Time (BBC Radio 5Live) and BBC Radio Wales’ topical news show ‘What’s The Story?’.
In 2011 he performed stand-up on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3), appeared on Sarah Millican’s episode of ‘Celebrity Deal Or No Deal’ (Channel 4) and currently presents a flagship show on XFM with fellow comic Elis James.
