Mock The Wasp presents:
Scree one off gig! W/ Mock The Wasp & more
Scree + Mock The Wasp + GDog & the Doctor of Sound + Jon Hart Music
Entry Requirements: 18+
Scree are back for a one off gig, headlining with Mock The Wasp, with support from GDog and the Doctor Of Sound and Singer Songwriter Jon Hart! Free Entry and Free Vinyl, RSVP email@example.com to obtain Vinyl E Ticket!
Formed in 1990, Scree have had many breaks with the three members joining other bands, going in different directions from metal to funk to pure synth pop. Opaque Shapes hit no.1 in the radio download charts in 4 countries as well as reaching the finals of the Pepsi Max unsigned band challenge. The last Scree gig was headlining the Colliers Woodstock festival back in 2006 off the back of a greatest hits EP ‘Fatter, Richer, Wiser’. However with the launch of the new MTW album featuring material written by the original Scree members we decided to put on another gig, with the original line-up + the talented Jon Hart on vocals. For anyone that attended Colliers Woodstock, you know it will be entertaining, possibly a little obscure but Dorset’s 3rd biggest band (probably) are back and who knows when we’ll be back again……

Mock The Wasp
Formed in 2012 as a virtual band with members around the country, the first album (Bovine Intent) was based on samples and sampling with the entire music completely generated. Jon Hart came in to provide the vocals. Airplay in the US particularly in Nashville and global sales led to the 2nd album (Pigeon Faced Freak), but feedback meant a change in direction. Real musicians came in to play real instruments, sessions musicians working with the material (mostly written by the original Scree line-up). Sufficient sales warranted the 3rd album (We like it when your dog flies – just released). Mock the Wasp are a band where the music is firmly tongue in cheek. This gig will be a show case of the 3rd album material and you get a ‘free’ copy of the Vinyl, what more could you want?
We like it when your dog flies…….
The Wasps are back. We gave you bears stuck in jars, then the fate of the humble Pigeon, now it’s flying dogs. They’ve got up on the funk vibe and they are flying, rocking, ears are flapping and tails are being chased. We’ve continued the revised real instrument formula, so we’ve still got an actual drummer, real bass, some synths and even some trumpet. However we’ve got some more guitar this time, a lot more guitar. We’ve gone harder (so to speak…..). Jon H also returns to the vocal duties for the third time. He’s practically a Wasp in drag. So sit back and kick your dogs into the air, flap your ears, moan about the state of the country and then forget about it in an total emersion in rock/pop/funk. The Wasp are back, we know you’ve missed us, well we think you have…… – MTW.

Jon Hart Music
Labelled by Acoustic Magazine in 2014 as 'The Next Big Thing', Jon Hart is one of the UK's emerging multi-instrumentalists, merging virtuoso finger-style guitar with vocal harmony & beat-boxing. He has enjoyed tours to LA and Belgium in previous set ups, and his music has been enjoyed by listeners on ABC and Absolute radio stations by Pete Donaldson, who described Jon has 'a terrifically accomplished musician'. Jon has a fast-growing following online, and has received a wealth of public support from fellow guitarists, including Jon Gomm, Chris Woods, Matt Stevens and session musician Steve Down.
In May 2015, he released his highly anticipated debut album Reborn, produced by long-time collaborator Chris Woods. The album have earned him performances at this year's Isle of Wight Festival and Acoustic Festival of Britain, and in October he supported Preston Reed at the 2015 Ullapool Guitar Festival.
