JOIN US FOR OVER 10 HOURS OF SUPREME COMEDY EXCELLENCE!
We've asked some of our favourite comics to pop down to the Good Ship to start road-testing their brand new Edinburgh Fringe show. Join us and watch some of the best comedy talent in town forge brand new jokes before your very eyes!
1PM: JOHN HASTINGS - AUDACITY
BBC 3's John Hastings, the funniest white comedian from Canada, was briefly vegan and is currently in love. An Amused Moose Comedy Award-nominated comedian, he's here to confront his fear of confrontation and prove that love starts in the toilet (not that kind, you yucky idiots). This "fast growing comic is a pleasure to watch" (Times).
**** (Herald). **** (Fest). **** (ThreeWeeks). **** (BroadwayBaby.com). ***** (Melbourne Herald Sun). **** (EdFestMag.com). **** (Now Magazine). **** (ThreeWeeks). 'His act is packed with observations and wit that will stay with you in a good way' ***** (Mirror).
2:10PM: CHRIS BETTS - BEWILDERBEEST
Betts is back, but he’s got a problem. What do you do when you can’t trust the law, the elderly or even yourself? Join him for his dissemination of human nature, featuring crooked cops and superstitious children. This occasionally filthy but always original Canadian jokesmith with a gift for "drolly original reasoning (and) zinging turn of phrase" (Scotsman) is a must see. Betts’ rigorous curiosity and lively imagination make him one of the most exciting acts around.

"An hour is not nearly enough.” Fresh Fringe ****
3:20 PM: KEITH FARNAN - BAD SOCIALIST
Bad Socialist is Keith Farnan’s latest show. In previous shows, he’s talked about everything from women’s rights to the disappearance of privacy to the unjust nature of the death penalty without ever having solved anything. In a world where the selfish seem to be winning, it might be time to just admit that being a good socialist is pretty impossible.
Having appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Montreal’s Just for Laughs, Showtime’s Live from Amsterdam as well as Money, Money, Money, his own stand-up documentary for RTE, Keith Farnan continues to perform his unique shows with their mixture of satire and insight at festivals across the world.
"If Eddie Izzard had been Irish, he'd surely have turned out a lot like Keith Farnan." The Scotsman
Brilliant, thought-provoking and laugh out loud funny.” Time Out
4:30PM TIERNAN DOUIEB - MISERABLY HAPPY
"Very friendly but fiercely political" (Time Out) comedian Tiernan Douieb considers if ignorance is indeed bliss, and if so, surely he shouldn't know that. Tiernan tries to work out what anyone actually wants anymore, what being civilised actually means and whether or not he’ll ever be able to persuade his wife to like raw tomatoes. A new hour of political gags and nonsense musings from ‘Opinionated yet likeable’ (The Guardian) Douieb.
“It’s a really lovely show, really good. A really good show.” Mark Thomas
5:40PM: FERN BRADY - SUFFER, FOOLS
Following two shows that sold out through word of mouth alone Scottish comedian Fern is back for another Scottish hour. Scottish. As seen on English comedian Russell Howard's Stand Up Central, English comedian Stewart Lee's Alternative Comedy Experience and English TV programme 8 out of 10 Cats. God, I hope I can cry over a dead relative or come across as sincere this year. As heard on Radio 4's State of the Nation's and BBC Scotland's Breaking the News.

8PM: BEN VAN DER VELDE - SIDEKICK
Some people are life's heroes, its leading men and women. They're full of swash, buckle and daring-do. Others are happy to stand at the side and hold their jackets.
For every Fred Flinstone, there is a Barney Rubble. Every Yogi needs a Booboo and all Sherlocks need a patient Watson.
This is a show about the men and women who pick up the pieces whilst the main man is busy humping the heroine after the credits have rolled.
"A sharp and crafty gagsmith, with wittily obtuse takes on an impressively wide range of topics bringing flair and confidence to them all." Chortle
"Whipsharp...with an air of mischievous mayhem...his hit rate is impressive, while his in-the-moment style creates a buzz of excitement in the room...a life-giving compere." Chortle

9:10PM : ABIGOLIAH SCHAUMAN - NAMASTE BITCHES
What’s the point in pursuing enlightenment when you could just put your feet up & knock back a bourbon? And what passes for happiness these days? Abigoliah is a certified Bikram Yoga instructor; she's run marathons and Tough Mudders, participated in Crossfit competitions... why would she bother when you’re just as likely to find those sweet endorphins at the bottom of a pint glass? She dissects mankind’s relationship with wellness and happiness; a show for anyone who’s paused on a treadmill or over a shot glass and wondered “wait…what am I doing?”.
"Fiercely Funny." The Scotsman ***** To-Do List ***** Three Weeks **** Skinny ***** Arts Award Voice
10:20pm: FIN TAYLOR - LEFTY TIGHTY RIGHTY LOOSEY
Come join current hot shot as he desperately tries to sustain momentum from last year’s 5 star sell-out Fringe smash ‘Whitey McWhiteface’. He’s still white, he’s still loud, he’s still gross and you’re still hippies. Something’s got to give. And i’m not blacking up or quietening down.
